The entire country is currently reeling under the ongoing CAA protests and the recent JNU violence has made the situation more worse. In the wake of the recent JNU attacks the young turks of the country has ensured that they take a stong stand about what is happening with many of them taking to the streets to protest and demand justice in the wake of incidents like those of the recent JNU attacks.  On the other hand the protests in Mumbai last night witnessed celebrities like Taapsee Pannu, Vishal Bhardwaj, Ranvir Shorey, Ali Fazal, Dia Mirza, turn up in solidarity for JNU students and teachers. 

Meanwhile, during an recent media interaction Deepika Padukone finally broke her silence about the ongoing protests. The Chhapaak actress said, that she is proud that we are not scared to express ourselves, and the fact that we are considering this, and thinking about the future, and irrespective of the point of view we have, the fact remains that is nice to see. The 34-year old actress added how she feels proud that we are voicing our opinion out on the streets, or otherwise, and that this has to happen if we want to see any kind of change in our life, or in the society as bringing upon our point of view is necessary. 

On the work front, Deepika is currently busy with the promotions of Chhapaak which is slated to hit theatres this week. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the films is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The movie which also stars Vikrant Massey is one of the most anticipated films of 2020 and will clash with Ajay Devgn's Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
