The series not only became hugely popular in Europe but also made history, as Bedi became one of the first Indian actors to headline a major international television show. His portrayal of the legendary pirate hero turned him into a global sensation and left a lasting impact on audiences worldwide.Recently, the beloved series completed 50 years, and the milestone was celebrated at the prestigious Sanremo Music Festival in Italy. Kabir Bedi attended the celebration and shared glimpses of the special moment on social media. He posted pictures from the event with Turkish actor Can Yaman, who is set to step into the iconic role in the upcoming adaptation of Sandokan. Bedi also expressed his gratitude to the creators and director who brought the series to life, calling the anniversary celebration a deeply moving and memorable moment in his journey.

Sandokan was based on the famous adventure novels written by Emilio Salgari, which revolve around the legendary pirate hero Sandokan. The series went on to become a massive international success and turned Kabir Bedi into a global icon, and his powerful portrayal of the fearless pirate won millions of admirers.

Even Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently celebrated this remarkable milestone achieved by his close friend Kabir Bedi. Marking nearly five decades of the iconic show, Salman congratulated the veteran actor for creating history with the series and bringing global recognition to Indian talent. In a warm and heartfelt gesture, Salman praised Bedi for his unforgettable performance and referred to him as the “original Tiger of India.”
