"I did this role only because of her and that is the truth," said Shahid.Shahid also revealed that Tara Sutaria had earlier been signed for the role of Preeti in Kabir Singh. The film's director Sandeep Reddy Wanga already wanted Kiara for the role of Preeti. She was their first choice. But for some reason the discussion didn't materialize after which Tara Sutaria was signed. Tara was busy with her debut movie 'Student of the Year 2' at that time Kabir Singh's date were getting extended.
