Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar announced his return to direction with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The love story will reunite Gully Boy lead pair Ranveer and Alia. The love story also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles. Taking to his Instagram handle, Karan updated the fans about the movie. He shared a selfie of himself and wrote, "Get set go! #locationscout #RockyAurRaniKiPremKahani". The film written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy is set for release in 2022.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s most awaited and talked about projects, Takht has finally been shelved after a long wait as per a report in Filmfare. After a the delays due to the lockdown, Karan has finally decided to call off the project for several reasons. One of the reasons being that Fox Star which was producing the film with Dharma backed out and Karan could not get another production house to invest in the film in the current situation. A source revealed, “Takht made no sense in the present context. It was meant to be an expensive historical costume drama, a collaboration between Karan Johar’s Dharma Production and Fox-Star. But Fox-star folded up and its replacement has been re-examining its long-standing relationship with Dharma Productions.
