Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor has joined filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Cornerstone Agency as their new talent. Taking to Instagram to announce the news, Karan Johar revealed that Shanaya Kapoor has not only joined the agency but will also make her Bollywood debut with Dharma Productions. He wrote, "Another beautiful addition to our growing @dcatalent family! Welcome to the #DCASquad, @shanayakapoor02. Her enthusiasm, perseverance and diligence is so amazing to see. Join us in showering your love & blessings as she begins her first film with @DharmaMovies, this July! Watch this space for film details!!!"
Earlier, Karan, had announced the names of a few new talents that have come on-board for his celebrity management venture which was launched in December. Bulbbul lead Triptii Dimri, Gurfateh Pirzada from Johar’s own Netflix original Guilty and Dhairya Karwa, seen in war drama Uri-The Surgical Strike are part of their talent roster. Johar’s venture is in partnership with Bunty Sajdeh, whose talent management firm Cornerstone, founded in 2008, manages sportspersons including Virat Kohli, Vinesh Phogat, KL Rahul, Sania Mirza, Yuvraj Singh, among others. Last month, the company had named film critic Rajeev Masand as its chief operating officer. Dharma is the second Bollywood production house after Yash Raj Films to operate a talent management arm. Speaking about Shanaya Kapoor, the upcoming actress was one of the assistants on Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl. She had earlier made an appearance in Maheep’s Netflix series Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives.
