Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 1: Suriya and Trisha Krishnan-starrer Karuppu opened to a solid response at the box office on its first day in theatres. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Tamil-language action drama collected Rs 15.50 crore net in India on Day 1 across 4,891 shows. The film’s India gross collection stood at Rs 17.93 crore, while overseas markets contributed Rs 7 crore gross. With the latest figures, Karuppu’s worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 24.93 crore after its opening day.

The Tamil version led the business with Rs 13.10 crore net and registered 54 percent occupancy across 3,448 shows. Meanwhile, the Telugu version collected Rs 2.40 crore net with 30 percent occupancy from 1,443 shows.

Directed by RJ Balaji, Karuppu was initially scheduled to release on May 14 but faced a delay due to reported financial issues. The film eventually released in theatres on May 15. Following the resolution, Suriya shared a message for fans on social media, thanking them for their support during the delay. “Dear all… Thank you for being with us! #Karuppu #VeeraBhadrudu from today!” the actor wrote.

Karuppu also marks the reunion of Suriya and Trisha after their 2005 film Aaru. The cast also includes Yogi Babu, Indrans, Sshivada, Swasika, Natty, Supreeth Reddy and Anagha Maya Ravi in key roles, while RJ Balaji plays the antagonist Baby Kannan.
