Fans reacted enthusiastically online, praising Kumar's performance and anticipating an intense and impactful film, with some predicting 'blockbuster' status and comparing it favorably to the original Kesari and his recent film Sky Force. The first film, Kesari (2019), depicted the Battle of Saragarhi in 1897, where 21 Sikh soldiers fought against 10,000 Pashtun tribesmen. Parineeti Chopra also starred in the first chapter. The Jallianwala Bagh massacre occurred on April 13, 1919, when British forces, under General Dyer, opened fire on a peaceful protest against the Rowlatt Act and the arrest of activists Saifuddin Kitchlew and Satyapal. The shooting continued until ammunition ran low, resulting in thousands of casualties.
