Mumbai, Aug 10 Actress Khushi Bhardwaj, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming thriller series 'Gyaarah Gyaarah', has opened up about working with Dhairya Karwa and portraying a character with shades.

”When I got this role, I was keen on doing it. I have never played someone with shades. My character Garima is a simple girl from Uttarakhand. The look is something which I have never done on camera before,” Khushi said.

“Wearing Indian attire with a bindi on the forehead was really different from my previous works. The series is a thriller which was one major reason for me to take it up,” added the 16-year-old actress.

Praising director Umesh Bist, Khushi said he was one of the other reasons why she said yes to the project.

“He has given me so much freehand to act... It is a great feeling for an actor. He is very calm on set and knows what exactly to be extracted from his actors. Also, Sikhya Entertainment (Guneet Monga and Achin Jain) is a production house I am immensely proud to be associated with,” the actress said.

“Whether you work for five days or 50 days, the way they treat you as actors is really something all should learn from. I have also noticed that the production house has a lot of females and that’s really something which I am happy with.”

In the series, Khushi has most of her scenes with 'Gehraiyaan' actor Dhairya Karwa.

Talking about her co-star, Khushi said: ”I have seen his work in films like ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, ‘Gehraiyaan’, and ‘Apurva’ - he is very talented. What sets him apart is his humble nature. The moment I reached the set he made me comfortable and that’s a huge effort for an experienced actor. Working with Dhairya Karwa was a great experience.”

Asked about the challenging parts of shooting 'Gyaarah Gyaarah', she said: “We were shooting in February in the hills and the temperature was freezing. And because we were shooting in the hills, there was no makeup van and we were in tents. Luckily there were fire pits everywhere so we could feel the warmth.”
