Kriti Sanon-starrer Mimi will release on Netflix and Jio Cinema on 30 July, the actor announced on Saturday. The drama is based on Samruddhi Porey-directed feature Mala Aai Vhaaychya, which won the National Award for the best feature film in Marathi in 2011.  Besides Kriti, Mimi stars Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Supriya Tripathi and Manoj Pahwa. Kriti Sanon announced the date of Mimi’s trailer release on Friday, July 8. A day later, she took to social media to share the release date of her film with her fans and followers. Sharing the film’s poster, she wrote, “This July, the unexpected offer will change her LIFE! Delivering the #MimiTrailer in 3 days, #Tuesday! #NothingLikeWhatYoureExpecting! #Mimi releasing on 30th July on @officialjiocinema & @netflix_in (sic).”

The Twitter handle of Netflix India also shared the news of the film's release date. Mimi tells an unconventional story about a surrogate mother. Talking about her character in the film, Kriti Sanon said, "I am very excited. It's based on the subject of surrogacy but actually it's the story of this young girl who wants to be an actor. She's a dancer in Mandawa and she ends up being a surrogate for a couple. Then, the things that follow change her life and also change her as a person."Mimi is inspired by the 2010 Marathi movie Mala Aai Vhhaychy. The Hindi remake is being produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films in association with Jio Studios.
