Actor Sanjay Dutt, despite being hailed as the badboy of Bollywood, is actually a diehard romantic at heart. If reports are to be believed, the Khalnayak star decided to surprise his wife Maanayata Dutt with a multi-crore gift. He reportedly booked 4 apartments on Maanayata's name at the luxurious Imperial Heights in Bandra's Pali Hill area. . However, the wifey is believed to have returned this expensive gift. Money Control has got access to the gift deed of the 4 apartments booked on the name of Dutt in December 2020. As per the deed, Rs 26.5 crore is the circle rate, or the value determined by the government, for these four properties, but brokers claim that the market value of the units is more than Rs 100 crore.
"The first deed was executed by Sanjay Dutt on December 23, 2020. Manyata gifted the apartments back to Dutt on December 29, 2020. The deeds were registered on payment of Rs 500 each", reads the report. The apartments booked were on different floors - two of them on the third and the fourth floor and a penthouse on the 11th and the 12th floor. The size of these units is around 3,000 sq. ft and command a monthly rent of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh per unit. As quoted by the business website, gifting of properties is a common practice but reversal of it is not. "A gift does not attract huge stamp duty for family members and is a common practice when it comes to property, but reversing a gift is not. The reversal may have to do something with tax restructuring", suggests a legal expert as reported by the website. On the professional front, Sanjay Dutt is currently gearing up for his much awaited, KGF: Chapter 2 co-starring Kannada superstar Yash. Sanjay was last seen in Torbaaz, an action thriller film directed by Girish Malik which released on Netflix.
