Actress Neena Gupta has decided to quit Rohit Shetty's cop drama Sooryavanshi featuring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. The 'Badhaai Ho' actress was roped into play Akshay Kumar's mother in the film but her role did not fit into the larger narrative. The veteran actress understood  Rohit's dilema and decided to part ways in a very professional manner.

The actress was informed by the makers the way her character was shaping up and Neena's role in the film did not go as planned earlier. She joked with Rohit that he will have to make up for this by offering her a role in his next project. Neena Gupta, meanwhile, will be seen in Ayushmann Khurrana's Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. The film is slated to hit theatres next year on the 21st of February.
