Veteran actress Neena Gupta has bagged a cameo in Kabir Khan's much awaited sports drama '83.' The 'Badhaai Ho' star will play Ranveer Singh's mother in the film and speaking about the same she says, ''I have a small cameo in Kabir Khan's '83. I play Kapil Dev as in Ranveer Singh's mother in the film. I have just shot for it.'' The year 2020 started on a positive note for the actress as her film, The Last Color has been in the top 344 films competing for Best Picture at the Oscars. 

Neena Gupta has interesting projects lined up for the year including Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Panga and Nikhil Advani's next starring Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh. The National Award winner, was on cloud nine after the news of her film making it to the Oscars was announced by chef turned director Vikas Khanna on his Instagram. Sharing the news on Instagram, Khanna wrote, "THE MIRACLE OF BELIEF. “The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscar) has announced the list of feature films eligible for the 2019 Academy Awards. And "The Last Color” is in the contention for Oscar 2019 BEST PICTURE. Link in the bio......What a way to start the year."  Elated Neena also shared the news and wrote, "Cant believe am soooo happy." The actress began her second innings in Bollywood after the stupendous success of Amit Sharma's 'Badhaai Ho.'
