He embarked on his boxing career in 2006 at the Army Sports Institute in Pune and made history by becoming the first Indian boxer to be ranked by the World Boxing Council (WBC).

In 2017, Goyat was honoured with a prestigious award acknowledging his significant contributions to the sport.

He achieved a notable milestone in 2014 by becoming the first boxer to defeat China’s Xu Can, who later went on to become a WBA world champion.
