O Romeo Box Office Collection Day 10: The romantic thriller O Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, continued its steady run at the domestic box office over the second weekend. The film earned 3.15 crore rupees net in India on its 10th day, pushing its total domestic collection to 55.80 crore rupees, according to trade website Sacnilk.
The movie opened with Rs 8.5 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 12.65 crore on Saturday and Rs 9 crore on Sunday. The first week ended with Rs 47.1 crore net. Week two began with a slow Friday collection Rs 2.15 crore, followed by Rs 3.4 crore on Saturday and Rs 3.15 crore on Sunday. The film’s 10-day worldwide collection stands at Rs 88.85 crore, including Rs 23 crore from overseas markets. India gross collection reached Rs 65.85 crore.
On Sunday, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 13.15 percent. Morning shows saw 6.99 percent occupancy, while afternoon and evening shows performed better at 17.26 percent and 16.96 percent, respectively. Night shows registered 11.38 percent occupancy.
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and and produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film is a dark tale of love, passion and action. It is based on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai by Hussain Zaidi, which also inspired Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In O Romeo, Shahid Kapoor plays gangster Hussain Ustara, while Triptii Dimri essays Afsha, a character said to be inspired by Ashraf Khan, also known as Sapna Didi.
Apart from Shahid and Triptii, the film also features Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal and Nana Patekar in key roles.
