Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri starrer O’ Romeo has begun igniting a storm on the big screens. A deadly combination of poetic love wrapped with a bloody thread of a gripping narrative that never thins down. The reviews have started pouring in and while Shahid Kapoor, alongwith the remaining cast, stands out with an exceptionally fierce and never-seen-before avatar, Triptii Dimri equally brings out the big guns. And the audiences as well as critics are mighty impressed by the confidence she has shed the soft-girl image, entering a new space that brings out the ferocity and vulnerability in her.

Romeo is a womaniser who is always surrounded by attractive women. But everything changes when he falls deeply in love with Afshan (Triptii Dimri), a sincere and dignified woman who is trying to cope with a painful personal loss. Romeo is exhausted from constantly following the orders of intelligence officer Khan (Nana Patekar). Meanwhile, Afshan is focused on taking revenge against the men who killed the man she loved (Vikrant Massey). In this ruthless hitman, she finds a ray of hope. As Afsha, Triptii takes a deep dive into a character-driven arc, serving a performance that matches her strong work in Laila Majnu, Bulbbul and Qala. Though the actress lets her expression do most of the talking and allows Afsha to display her inner conflicts, Triptii keeps it subtle and restrained, and that’s exactly what makes her conviction even more powerful. As a vengeful widow, Triptii transitions her rage into becoming the lady hitman to take revenge on her husband’s murderers.

Triptii shares the screen space for the first time with Shahid Kapoor, and never once do they make you realize they are a first-time pairing. The Qala star matches Shahid step by step with a stirring and emotionally charged performance, and also holds her ground alongside the ensemble. Her grace and quiet strength with Shahid’s hypermasculine and charged character make their chemistry shine even brighter.

As Afsha, Triptii delivers yet another impactful performance, and director Vishal Bhardwaj presents with the same strength reserved for a male lead. With O’ Romeo, Triptii adds another strong title to her body of work, which is casting a similar impression as her previous memorable craft, including Laila Majnu, Qala, Bulbbul and Dhadak 2. And O’ Romeo is simply a level-up for Triptii!

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, O’ Romeo stars Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal and others. The film has kickstarted its theatrical run.
