Rajasthan locals demands ban on Arjun Kapoor's 'Panipat'

Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Panipat' has landed in hmself in trouble after locals in Rajasthan protested against the wrong depiction of Maharaja Surajmal. The film which is based on the third battle of Panipat has been in the news ever since the trailer was unveiled online. According to reports the film showcases the character of Maharaja Surajmal as greedy ruler which he never was. The protest is also over the use of Rajasthani and Haryanvi language in the film, claiming that they speak Braj language.

Many prominent personalities took to their social media to express their displeasure. Meanwhile, Twitter users have gone beserk especially the locals of Rajasthan for wrong representation of historical facts in the film. Moreover, they effigies of Ashutosh Gowariker has been burnt with many of them asking the viewers to boycott the film. Check out some of the tweets here....

 

The historical drama features actors like Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Mohnish Bahl, Padmini Kolhapure, Sanjay Dutt, and Nawab Shah in key roles.
