Randeep Hooda has shared a video on social media that showed him doing something quietly meaningful, cleaning up plastic and garbage from the banks of a river. With no dramatic build-up or slogans, the video focused on a simple truth, taking responsibility for the spaces we live in and leave behind.

This gesture is not a one-off moment, but an extension of who Randeep has always been. Known to be deeply connected to nature, he has consistently lent his voice and time to wildlife conservation and environmental causes. His respect for natural ecosystems and his love for the outdoors have long been part of his personal life. The actor has also had a long standing association with Afroz Shah for the Versova Beach Cleanup initiative in which the actor has partaken in the citizen led movement to help preserve the cleanliness of the beach through regular clean up drives.

For Randeep, keeping one’s environment and country clean isn’t just about appearances or civic duty; it’s about respect, for the land we inhabit and for the many other species that share these spaces with us. Rivers, lakes, forest edges, and natural habitats are living ecosystems, not dumping grounds.

Discarded plastic and unmanaged waste in such areas do far more damage than we often realise. They contaminate water bodies, disrupt fragile habitats, and pose serious threats to animals who mistake plastic for food or get trapped in waste. What may seem like careless littering can have lasting consequences for wildlife and the environment.

By uploading this video, Randeep Hooda aimed to underline a simple but urgent idea, environmental responsibility begins with everyday actions. Cleaning up after ourselves, being mindful of how and where we discard waste, and respecting shared natural spaces are essential steps toward a cleaner country and a healthier planet.
