The tragic demise of Sushant Singh Rajput has opened a can of worms and now  Ranvir Shorey recently took to social media to share that he also faced 'professional and social isolation along with psychological trauma' between 2003 to 2005 with the same people who are now involved in Sushant's case. While he didn't take names, it was clear that he was talking about the Bhatt family. In a recent interview, he opened up about his tweet and he confirmed that he was indeed talking about his fallout with the Bhatt family. When Ranvir was asked whether he is referring to his fallout with the Bhatts, he said, "Yes, that is what I am talking about. I went through a similar experience where I was professionally and socially isolated, equally pressured from all ends. Every chance and every platform they would get, they would be lying about me, saying I am an alcoholic and abuser."

He further told Hindustan Times, "You feel so helpless and powerless because these people are so powerful that the press will just listen to them and not even bother calling you for your side of the story. You just feel so helpless and frustrated because you can’t do anything about it. It got really toxic for me at the time and I had to leave the country for a while." For the unversed,  Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Pooja Bhatt dated Ranvir and they were reportedly engaged too. However, things got ugly really soon and they called off their relationship. Ranvir was one of the rare celebrities who had attended Sushant Singh Rajput's funeral in Mumbai alongside Kriti Sanon, Shraddha Kapoor, and Vivek Oberoi. He was also Sushant's co-star in Sonchiriya which starred Manoj Bajpayee, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ashutosh Rana.
