Hours after veteran actress and MP Jaya Bachchan took an indirect dig at Ravi Kishan in the Parliament, the latter has now reacted to her comments. He had earlier spoken about drug addiction in Bollywood and in a recent interview with Times Now, Ravi Kishan has said that he was shocked and hurt by what Jaya Bachchan had said. He was expecting to get support from her. Ravi stated that the veteran actress didn’t hear his statement while he was trying to protect his industry. Ravi Kishan added that maybe a few actors do consume drugs in the industry and clarified that not all the celebs do it.

Without taking names, Ms Bachchan, 72, said she was "really embarrassed and ashamed" with a Lok Sabha member's statement on Monday."Jis thaali me khaate hain usi me chched karte hain," Ms Bachchan said in the Rajya Sabha today. Her remark in Hindi, draws from the idiom, "Bite the hand that feeds you"."But people who have made their name in this film industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree," she said,  indirectly referring to actor Kangana Ranaut's recent remarks calling Bollywood a "gutter".Ms Bachchan was speaking during the zero hour in the Rajya Sabha. Even Kangana Ranaut has taken to social media and questioned Jaya Bachchan’s statement.

The ‘Queen’ actress asked her if her kids Shweta and Abhishek Bachchan were in her place, would she have said the same thing? She tweeted, “Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhishek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also.” The Narcotics Control Bureau is investigating charges of drug-dealing and use based on chats found on the phone of Rhea Chakraborty, a 28-year-old actor being investigated over the death of her boyfriend, popular star Sushant Singh Rajput, on June 14. Rhea Chakraborty, who is in a Mumbai jail, has been accused of organising drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput. The anti-drugs agency called her "an active member of a drugs syndicate".
