Former Australian cricketer David Warner has made his acting debut in the Telugu film Robinhood. The Nithiin and Sreeleela starrer hit theaters on Thursday and has been making headlines for its action-packed storyline and Warner’s special cameo. Reports suggest he was paid Rs 2.5 crore for the role.  The cricketer reportedly charged Rs 1.25 crore per day and completed his shoot in just two days. He appears on screen for two minutes and fifty seconds.

Warner has a huge fan following in Hyderabad because of his long association with SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He played for the team for several years and led them to their only title in 2016. Beyond cricket, he has built a strong bond with Indian fans through social media. He often shares dance reels on Instagram featuring popular Telugu and Hindi songs. Sometimes, he also appears in these videos with his family.

Warner has been actively promoting Robinhood with the lead actors. He also shared the film’s trailer on Instagram and called it his "big screen debut in a super entertaining film."

The film, directed by Venky Kudumula, follows the story of a thief who takes on the role of a bodyguard for a high-profile client. It features Nithiin, Sreeleela, Dayanand Reddy, Vennela Kishore, Shine Tom Chacko, Lal, Subhalekha Sudhakar, and Rajendra Prasad in key roles.
