Rubina Ali who rose to fame with Slumdog Millionaire lost her father on Thursday, after a prolonged battle with Tuberculosis. Rubina who was staying away from her father will reportedly arrive at his residence in Bandra for the funeral. Rubina portrayed the role of a young Latika in  Danny Boyle's Oscar winning film. She was just 10 years old when she faced the camera for the very first time. 

Recently while speaking to Mumbai Mirror recently Rubina had revealed that she had moved out of the house in Royal Court building, given to her by the Jai Ho Trust. She was living with her mother Khurshid in Nallasopara while her father lived in the Bandra flat with her step mother and Munni and their five kids. A first year BA student, Rubina is also studying fashion design and has signed up for a make-up course as well. The 20 year old has also started working part-time at a make-up studio.
