Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic historical romance drama completes 4 years today conceived as early as the 1990s it was Bhansali's most ambitious project. Based on the marathi novel Rau by Nagnath S Inamdar, Bajirao Mastani narrates the story of Maratha Peshwa Bajirao and his second wife. The movie which was subjected to numerous delays due to the constant change in casting was finally released in December 15 with Ranveer Singh in the lead. As the film completes four years, cine-buffs shared stills and messages from the film on social media. 

Calling Ranveer's character as flawless and Deepika's role as spectaular Twitter users poured in their love for the entire cast including Priyanka Chopra. Recipients of several accolades, Bajirao Mastani won seven National Film Awards, including Best Direction, and Best Supporting Actress for Azmi. The film received fourteen nominations at the 61st Filmfare Awards winning nine of them, including Best Film, Best Director for Bhansali, Best Actor for Ranveer Singh and Best Supporting Actress for Priyanka Chopra.
