The Narcotics Control Bureau has responded to filmmaker Karan Johar’s party video of 2019 featuring some of Bollywood's biggest A-listers.  According to Times Now, the NCB is looking into the drug angle in connection to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. Reports also suggest that the investigating agency might summon the actors for interrogation. It is also being said that the statements of the actors will be recorded through email and through their lawyers. The report further mentioned that no stipulated timeframe has been given for the issue of summons.  For the unversed, a video was posted by Karan Johar on his instagram where it showed Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan, Zoya Akhtar, and Shakun Batra at his home.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa had filed a complaint against Karan Johar and others present in the video alleging "drugs were used" by those who attended the party.  In his statement earlier, Karan had responded to the allegations made against him, saying that he had already clarified his stance way back in 2019, where he called it "false" and claimed it to be a "malicious campaign" against him and his family. As part of their investigation, the NCB interrogated Kshitij Ravi Prasad, who was an associate of Karan in the Dharmatic Entertainment. He was arrested on charges of procurement and consumption of drugs even though his lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, claimed that nothing was ceased from his residence except cigarette butts. While looking into the drug angle of Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, the NCB is also trying to tap the underground drug cartel in Bollywood. Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor had earlier given their statements over allegations of procurement and consumption of drugs.
