A shooting took place outside Bollywood director Rohit Shetty's residence in Mumbai in the wee hours of Sunday, news agency ANI reported. According to reports, four bullets were fired outside the filmmaker's residence in the Juhu area.No injuries have been reported thus far and there is heavy police presence in the area, which has been cordoned off.
Police reached the spot promptly after the shots were heard and an investigation is underway. Senior officers from the city police, zonal units, and the crime branch reached the location soon after. The Mumbai Police Commissioner confirmed the incident and said an investigation is underway. “Firing has taken place at the building. We are investigating all possible angles to identify the culprits,” he said, adding that the probe is being jointly handled by senior police officials and the crime branch.
The police is examining the matter from all possible angles. Officials said they are also looking into the possible involvement of international gangs, though no conclusions have been drawn so far. Video footage showing police activity outside the filmmaker’s residence has begun circulating on social media.
