Former Bigg Boss Malayalam contestant Somadas passed away due to cardiac arrest. The 42-year-old, who was under treatment for COVID-19 at Kollam medical college, suffered a heart attack on Sunday (January 31) morning. The singer shot to fame as a contestant in the iconic reality show, 'Star Singer'. Even though he couldn't win the title, Somadas was one of the popular contestants in the 2008 show.

Recently, the singer was seen as a contestant in the second season of Bigg Boss Malayalam. But, he left the show midway due to medical emergency. Bigg Boss advised Somadas to quit the show after diagnosing with having high BP, sugar and cholesterol as well. During his Bigg Boss stint, Somadas gained much attention with his soulful rendition of popular Tamil song, 'Kannana Kanne'. The singer was often spotted in tears singing the same as a dedication for his daughters. He also landed up in a controversy regarding his confessions about his ex-wife in the show. Sharing a heart-touching note on social media, Ex-Bigg Boss contestant Arya has paid tribute to her former inmate.
