Actress Sonal Chauhan is embracing her Punjabi cinema journey with immense enthusiasm as she gears up for the release of Shera. Shera is all set to hit theatres on 15th May 2026. The film is a family drama starring Parmish Verma and Sonal Chauhan in the lead roles. Making her Punjabi debut with the movie, the actress revealed that performing in the Punjabi language has been a joyful and enriching experience for her, especially because of her long-standing love for the language, music and Punjabi culture.

Sharing her excitement, Sonal said, “I am in love with Punjab; mujhe Punjab se ishq ho gaya hai. I’ve always loved Punjabi as a language, and Shera was like an opportunity for me to learn Punjabi and get better with it. I’ve always listened to Punjabi music and I find a certain joy in this language. Parmish has been a wonderful co-star and he always helped me polish my dialogues, which was very helpful to me throughout the filming of Shera. I can speak a little now but hopefully by my next Punjabi movie I’ll be a pro.”

“But beyond this, I felt quite connected to Punjabi culture, and my love for it has only multiplied after spending time here. I have been fortunate enough to learn more about this culture and get more acquainted to the beautiful concepts of gurbaani like hukum, seva and langar. And as deep as I’m getting into it, I’m finding meaning behind each concept, and the immense value it holds, which is beautiful,” she adds.

The actress also expressed gratitude for the warmth and support she received on set, crediting her co-star Parmish Verma and director Savio Sandhu for helping her become more confident with her dialogues and pronunciation during the shoot. She also credited her producer Anmol Sahani for making her Punjabi debut a smooth and pleasant experience.

With Shera, Sonal Chauhan not only steps into Punjabi cinema for the first time but also explores a language and culture she deeply connects with personally. Fans are now excited to witness this fresh on-screen pairing and Sonal’s new cinematic journey.
