The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued its verdict  of transferring the case to CBI in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The announcement was followed by celebrations from the late actor's family who hailed the verdict by the Supreme Court. Sushant's U.S based sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, expressed her joy on the decision. Shweta called the verdict, the first step towards truth and unbiased investigation. Sharing her excitement in a series of tweets,

Shweta wrote, “There we go!! Finally!! CBI for SSR!! #CBITakesOver. Thank you God!  You have answered our prayers!! But it is just the beginning... the first step towards the truth! Full faith on CBI!! #Victoryoffaith #GlobalPrayersForSSR #Wearefamily #CBITakesOver. Congratulations to my extended Family!! So happy... the first step towards victory and unbiased investigation. #JusticeforSushantSingRajput #OurfullfaithonCBI.”The top court, which had previously reserved its judgement on August 11, was told by the Bihar government that a "political clout" prevented the Mumbai Police to register an FIR in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The Maharashtra government, on the other hand, dismissed all such allegations and argued that Bihar lacked jurisdiction in the matter.Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14 under mysterious circumstances.
