Karan Johar's period drama Takht is one of the most talked about films in Bollywood currently. The film consists of a star studded star cast which includes, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, and Janhvi Kapoor.  The Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna director has already charted a 170 day schedule for the shoot. Meanwhile, Kjo has officially started with the reccee and is currently in Rajasthan find locations for his most ambitious project.

The film was earlier scheduled to go on floors in August last year but things did not worked out as per plan but now has been pushed to February. The film reportedly showcases Ranveer as Shah Jahan's eldest son Dara Shikoh and Vicky Kaushal as Aurangazeb as they fight it out for the Mughal throne. The details of the film has been kept a close guarded secret including the release date. Karan's last release was Netflix Ghost Stories in which he directed one of the four short stories.
