The Supreme Court has granted anticipatory bail to veteran Telugu actor and former Mohan Babu in in the journalist assault case. The Telangana High Court had earlier rejected his plea, but the top court overturned the decision.

The incident took place on December 10, 2024, at Mohan Babu’s residence in Jalpalli, Hyderabad. The journalist filed a complaint with the Pahadishareef police, accusing the actor of attacking him with a microphone. This led to the registration of a case against Mohan Babu.

During the hearing, Mohan Babu told the Supreme Court that the attack was not intentional and was linked to ongoing family disputes. He also expressed willingness to compensate the journalist.
