The release of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer much-awaited sports drama '83 has been delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak. The news was revealed by Ranveer on his Twitter. The actor wrote, "In the wake of the risks posed by the recent outbeak of COVID-19 and the growing health concerns, the release of '83 has been put on hold. We will take a decision regarding the next course of action once the conditions returns to normal." 

The movie which also stars Deepika Padukone was slated to release on the 10th of April this year.The film which is based on on 1983 Cricket World Cup is helmed by Kabir Khan. Speaking about the COVID-19 effect in on  India the country, recorded its fourth death due to Covid-19 on Thursday even as fresh cases surged in the country, with more than 50 recorded in the past two days. Bollywood has come to a total shutdown with film shoots and released postponed. Meanwhile, gyms, multiplexes, malls, and swimminhg pools have been shut down in Mahrashtra to curb the spread of the virus.
