Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 17 : Actor Vikrant Massey is currently on cloud nine, as his recently released film '12th Fail' performed exceptionally well at the box office.

After the success of the film, Massey recently talked about how, after being a part of several acclaimed films, he still feels he is replaceable.

Talking exclusively to ANI, Vikrant said, "This is a very challenging industry. Cricket, Politics and Bollywood I think these are the three most popular professions in our country. There is also a misconception of having it easier here, but I don't think that is actually the case. I think it is a very democratic, robust and progressive community, but it is not a family."

"It is a competitive industry; you might not be wishing ill to a person, but you will not wish best for the other person either because you wan't to take the other person's place. There are thousands of actors who want to take my part. Do they really wish well for me? Or am I irreplaceable? No. If I break my leg, someone else will come and take my place and start shooting in the next 4 days, and that is how competitive it is," he added.

He also acknowledged that it is an industry where caste and religion don't matter.

Vikrant said, "It is also a place where I think caste and religion don't matter. On a shooting set, what is the caste, what is the religion, what is its orientation, from what background it comes, from the village, from the city, it doesn't actually matter."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Vikrant's recent release '12th Fail' has been sent to the Oscars 2024 as an independent nomination.

The film has received appreciation from Kamal Haasan, Rishabh Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Farhan Akhtar and Anil Kapoor among others.

Helmed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, '12th Fail' revolves around UPSC aspirants and is based on real-life experiences. It draws from the gritty struggles of millions of students who attempt the UPSC entrance exam.
