Washington DC [US], August 11 : The Canadian rapper Tory Lanez who was recently given a ten-year prison term for shooting fellow artist Megan Thee Stallion in the foot said he will not apologise, TMZ reported.

Tory finally broke his silence on Thursday with a lengthy Instagram post, promising to bounce back after he completes his stretch in a California state prison.

“I have never let a hard time intimidate me, I will never let no jail time eliminate me. Regardless of how they spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

He added, “This week in court I took responsibility for all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved …. That’s it. In no way shape or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of.”

He noted, “I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something I did not do. I’ve faced adversity my whole life and every time it looked like I would lose, I came on top, This is nothing but another moment where my back is against the wall and I refuse to stop fighting till I come out victorious.”

He concluded his lengthy post by saying that “tough times don’t last, tough people do” before thanking his fans, friends, and family for their support.

“See you soon,” he vowed at the end.

Tory was given a 10-year sentence by the court on Tuesday, but his powerful attorney Jose Baez says they intend to appeal that decision, TMZ reported.

Last December, Tory was found guilty of shooting Megan in the foot in July 2020 as they left a party at the home of celebrity Kylie Jenner.

Tory claims that his conviction is just another instance in which he is up against the wall, but he assures everyone that he will prevail despite the situation.

According to Tory's attorney, as he starts serving his sentence, he is relying on his faith, as well as his family and friends.’

Tory thanked his supporters and promised to see them soon, stating that "tough times don't last, tough people do."
