In a tragic turn of events three men were killed on the sets of a Kamal Haasan film after a crane on which they were sitting on broke apart and crashed to the ground. All the three were assistant directors of the film, Indian 2, being shot at EVP Film City near Chennai.Nine others were injured. The deceased were identified as Krishna and Madhu, who were assistant directors in director Shankar’s team, and another person named Chandran from the catering team. A few pictures of the reported crane collapse have surfaced online. The injured have been taken to a nearby private hospital. Both director Shankar and Kamal Haasan are unhurt.

Kamal Haasan expressed his sadness on the unfortunate mishap that left three dead also offered his condolences to the deceased family. Taking to social media, Kamal Haasan said, “Although I have met and overcome several accidents, the mishap that happened today is brutal. I stand alone having lost three of my comrades. More than my pain, the anguish of their families will be several times more. I partake in their anguish as one among them. My deepest condolences to them.” Actor Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggawal and costume designer Amritharam were apparently just ten seconds away from being crushed by the crane. The film costume designer shared the same on her social networking page and offered her condolences to those who lost their lives. Indian 2, an action thriller, is being seen as Kamal Haasan's film that dabbles in politics.
