Twinkle Khanna, known for pouring out her candid thoughts and penning her headstrong opinions, took to her social media handle to share her remark on the Women’s Reservation Bill. She says that the bill was passed earlier, but it would only be implemented after delimitation. While everyone argues about seats per state, Khanna feels that women’s rights are still on a “waitlist”.
In a brief conversation with her sister, Twinkle Khanna reveals reading about a graphic novel about quantum mechanics these days. As much as she’d love to understand more about the concept, “the closest I’ve gotten is when I went to Karan Johar’s house,” she remarks in jest. When her sister asks her about the Women’s Reservation Bill, she says, “The bill reserving 33% of seats for women was passed earlier, but it would only be implemented after delimitation. While everyone argues about seats per state, women’s rights are still on a waitlist.”
She adds, “‘Come to think of it,’ I say,’ the bill could work as a quantum physics experiment. Officially alive and functionally dead at the same time. You remember Schrödinger’s cat, where the animal is placed in a sealed box and is considered both alive and dead until observed. Schrödinger could have used the bill instead of a cat, and he wouldn’t even need to put it in a box.’”
Further, she pivots to talking about her workouts, reveals feeling "negotiating trade agreements" instead of working out! “What are these exercises - Russian twist, Romanian deadlifts, French press, American kettle bell swing? I ask my trainer, 'Next, instead of jumping jacks, you'll tell me to do The Strait of Hormuz. Open and close repeatedly. Instead of working out, I feel like I'm negotiating trade agreements."
Yet again, Twinkle Khanna offers an insightful window into her lens through which she views the world, and it’d be safe to say why she’s celebrated as a thinking author!
