Deepika Padukone is widely considered one of the most sought after stars today and the young lady in a short span has carved a successful career in the movies. Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om was a dream debut of sorts for Deepika as her first co-star was none other than Shah Rukh Khan. However, he actress had to struggle a lot before she got that big break. From featuring in music videos to walking the ramp as a background model, the actress did it all. You may find it hard to believe but there was a time when she walked the ramp at a fashion show where Fardeen Khan was the star attraction. The year was 2005, when Fardeen was basking on the success of his film No Entry.
Deepika was one of the six girls who walked behind Fardeen in that fashion show. Deepika was last seen on the silver screen in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, which was based on the real-life story of acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The film had turned out to be a damp squib at the box office, ending up with lifetime collection of about Rs 35 crore. Today, Deepika is one of the top actresses in Bollywood who has given some brilliant performances in films like, ‘Cocktail’, ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela’, Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Padmaavat’, ‘Chhapaak’ and others.On the work front, Deepika has some very interesting projects which include Kabir Khan’s ‘83’ co-starring husband Ranveer Singh. While Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of Kapil Dev, Deepika plays his wife Romi Dev in the movie. She is also co-producing the film. Apart from that, she will also be seen in Shakun Batra’s untitled next co-starring Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
