Vicky Kaushal has begin prepping for his next film, The Immortal Ashwatthama, with Aditya Dhar. The actor took to Instagram to share an interesting photo of himself with the director where he is seen with a cast of Plaster of Paris on his face. Vicky captioned the picture, ‘When the Director’s really serious about ‘casting’ you in the Film. Prepping to be The Immortal! @adityadharfilms #TheImmortalAshwatthama.' ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’ is the second film of Vicky with Aditya. The actor-director had earlier collaborated for ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. The movie also starred Aditya’s now-wife Yami Gautam and Kirti Kulhari in key roles.
The superhero film will also reportedly star Sara Ali Khan as the female lead. This will be the first time when Vicky and Sara will be seen pairing up for a movie. In January, Vicky Kaushal treated his fans to the first poster of The Immortal Ashwatthama. He wrote, "Another one!!! On the 2nd anniversary of URI-The Surgical Strike, the team gives you a glimpse into the world of #TheImmortalAshwatthama. Cannot wait to get onto this journey with the dream team of @adityadharfilms #RonnieScrewvala @rsvpmovies @soniyeah22 (sic)." The film is being planned as a trilogy. The shooting of the film was scheduled to begin in April 2021. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The trilogy has its roots in the Mahabharata and will see Vicky Kaushal in a mythological character of Ashvatthama, the son of Pandavs and Kauravas teacher Dronacharya, who was given the boon of immortality. Apart from The Immortal Ashwatthama, Vicky Kaushal also has Mr Lele, Sardar Udham Singh and Sam Bahadur.
