Actor Vishaal Mohan, who made his debut with Game 100 Crore Ka and played the lead role in the recently released film Yadav Ji Ki Love Story, will soon be seen in the films Aashiqui Imtehaan Leti Hai and Mehndi 2. He says that while he values staying grounded as a person, he is always ready to evolve as an artist.

Talking about the importance of reinvention, Vishaal shares that growth in the creative field comes from continuously exploring new dimensions within oneself. “It is always very important for an artist to keep changing from within, but as a person, I still want to remain exactly as I am in terms of looks and personality. However, when it comes to being an artist, I am completely open to experimenting with the roles I receive. Every time, I want to show a ‘new Vishaal’ within me and demonstrate the possibilities within me to my producers and directors,” he says. “Whether it’s my language, my look, my appearance, or even my gait, I am always open to working on these aspects.”

The actor also recalls a significant turning point in his career when he consciously decided to step away from television to focus on preparing for films. According to him, the decision required courage but was necessary for his long-term growth. “A phase came in my career when I decided to quit the TV industry and upgrade myself for films. Every person knows their own potential — what they are made for and what they should be doing. Despite having a good income, I decided that I needed to move up and prepare myself for movies,” he explains.

“After a gap of eight or nine years, I am finally getting opportunities in films again. I continue to upgrade myself and work even harder so that audiences appreciate me even more, because the love and recognition from the audiences has given me a sense of responsibility toward my work.”

For Vishaal, reinvention is not just about changing appearances on screen but also about rediscovering oneself as an artist. He believes audiences today appreciate performers who can bring something new with every project. “The audience likes someone who can show a new form, a new body language, a new definition, and a new persona. I want to create an identity where the audience always waits to see Vishaal Mohan appear in a new form,” he says. “I don’t want to be someone who always acts the same way, talks the same way, and looks the same on screen. In my personal life I will remain the same person, but professionally I am always ready to take on challenging characters.”

The actor acknowledges that audiences often become attached to a particular image of an actor, but he believes that modern viewers are far more open to change than before. “People connect with a specific image because the actor has portrayed it so effectively that it stays in their minds. But today’s audience is very smart. They want to see something different in every film,” he says. “In my upcoming project, they won’t want to see the same Vishaal Mohan they saw before — they will want something new.”

He also points out that the success of a film today depends far more on the strength of the content than on conventional star images. “Today there is no inherent value in simply being a ‘hero’ or ‘heroine’. The real value lies in strong content, good acting, powerful direction, and quality cinematography. Repetitive films don’t work anymore. Directors and producers also have to work just as hard because audiences are highly discerning,” he adds.

Despite his commitment to transformation on screen, Vishaal says he is careful to maintain balance between his professional and personal identities. For him, acting is a responsibility he takes very seriously, but he believes in leaving the character behind once a project ends. “Whenever I am offered a good film or character, I dedicate my full time and energy to it. But once the project ends, I return to my natural self and spend time with my family,” he says. “That’s when I become the real Vishaal Mohan again. However, whenever I receive a new script, I give my maximum effort so that I can present a different Vishaal Mohan to my audience.”
