After serving as a judge on the popular reality show Indian Idol for six seasons in a row, singer and composer Vishal Dadlani quit the show and said goodbye to everyone. In a video post, well-known singer-music composer Vishal Dadlani said thank you to the singing reality competition. He announced the end of his tryst with Indian Idol on social media on April 7, stating that he now wants to devote all of his time and attention to creating and performing music all over the world.

Along with his fellow judges Badshah and Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal posted a sweet video to Instagram. Besides that, he wrote a long, emotional note. He wrote, “Alvida, yaaro. 6 seasons mein jitna mazaa kiya, uss se bhi zyada yaad aayegi. Haqq se zyada pyaar milaa hai, iss show ki vajah se. Eternally grateful to everyone involved. I hope the show will miss me as much as I’ll miss it. I’m literally only leaving because I want my time back. Can’t stay stuck in Mumbai for 6 months each year!”

Further in his post, he thanked everyone who was part of his journey. He wrote, “Thanks Shreya, Badshah, Adi, Aradhana, Chitra, Anand ji, Ananya, Sonal, Pratibha, Sahil, Saloni, Muskaan, Abisha, the entire production crew, Vilas, Pakya, Kaushik (Pinky), and allthe singers and musicians down the years! Also the mix, sound and tech crew (Mahesh ji, Rakesh and all), the lighting guys, the stage hands, the cleaning crew, Sajidbhai and Satishbhai (our still photographers), and everyone. Only LOVE to each and all of you with an added apology to anyone I’ve left out here. Time to get back to making music, playing concerts and never putting on make-up! It’s #VishalAndSheykhar season!! Jai ho!”
