Los Angeles [US], January 25 : Actor Bradley Cooper on Wednesday opened up on the seven Oscar nominations for 'Maestro' at an event in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

'Maestro' received seven Oscar nods, including three for Bradley Cooperfor 'Best Picture', 'Best Actor' and 'Best Original Screenplay, CNN reported.

Reacting to the nominations, Cooper said, "We are all so grateful to be recognized along all of these incredible works of art this year. And the performances from every actor who I so admire. Thank you to Jamie, Alex & Nina Bernstein for allowing their parents' stories to be out there in the world and thank you to the Academy. We are very honoured to be included."

According to the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, Cooper is the fourth actor-director to win multiple 'Best Actor' nods at the Oscars.

Apart from 'Maestro', Cooper earlier directed and also featured as the male lead in the 2018 film 'A Star Is Born'. The film marked the Hollywood debut of multiple Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Lady Gaga.

The other Hollywood actor-directors, apart from Cooper, to win multiple 'Best Actor' nods at the Oscars were Laurence Olivier for 'Henry V', 'Hamlet' and 'Richard III', Warren Beatty for 'Heaven Can Wait and Reds' and Clint Eastwood for 'Unforgiven' and 'Million Dollar Baby'.

Cooper also received three BAFTA nominations last week, including one for 'Best Director', the only category in which he was not nominated for an Oscar this year.

However, he expressed no disappointment at not being considered for 'Best Director'.

"I really didn't know that we were going to get anything thing today, so the fact that we got seven nominations is incredible," he said.

On the BAFTA nominations, he said, "That really meant a lot to us. You know the BAFTAs are incredible and I'm excited. I just get excited that we get to go and we get to see each other."
