In a noble gesture, way back in 2017 Bollywood celebs and politicians had come together to fight the menace of tuberculosis. A exhibition match was scheduled  as a part of ‘TB-Free India Summit’. While the Bollywood celebs formed ‘Mumbai Heroes’ and was captained by actor Bobby Deol, the MPs named their team as ‘MPs XI’ and were led by Anurag Thakur, Lok Sabha member and former BCCI President. The said match took place on Saturday at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.

After winning the toss, the ‘MPs XI’ team elected to bat first and made a total of 213 runs. After ‘Mumbai Heroes’ surpassed the said score, they were declared the winners of the match, while Sunny Dulgach received the ‘Best Batsman’ award and cricketer Prashant Chopra was adjudged as the ‘Man of the Match’. After the match, J.P. Nadda (Union Health & Family Welfare Minister) and Anurag Thakur addressed the gathering, wherein they spoke about the harmful impact of the dreaded disease of Tuberculosis (TB). This was followed by both, ‘MPs’ XI’ and ‘Mumbai Heroes’ pledging their support to the TB-Free India campaign.
