Sushant Singh Rajput was the face of ‘RAW: Romeo Akbar Walter’ when the posters were first released in 2017. He had shared the same on social media but later he dropped out of the venture. Sushant reportedly had a busy schedule and had to turn down the espionage thriller directed by Robbie Grewal. The actor had also reportedly returned the signing amount of Rs 4 crore after a mutual interaction with the makers of the film. John Abraham took the lead in this film which hit the screens in 2019.

Unfortunately, I will not be part of Romeo Akbar Walter due to changes in my prior commitments. I wanted to be part of the project because I love the story, and believe it must be told, but, that will not happen.”  said Sushant in his statement. Sushant wanted to shoot for his films over 15-day schedules, but, the producers  felt it would affect the continuity. He wanted two 30-day schedules to complete Romeo, but that wasn’t possible for the actor.” The role eventually went to John Abraham which also starred Mouni Roy, Jackie Shroff and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles. The film which released on April 5th 2019 received mixed reviews upon its release.
