Taapsee Pannu has long been the firebrand of Indian cinema, championing social message films like Pink, Thappad, Mulk, Badla and Rashmi Rocket that tackle women's rights, domestic violence, and societal taboos head-on. Far from chasing commercial blockbusters she has carved her niche as the OG protagonist, who is fierce, unfiltered, and unapologetically real. Recently on being asked about how did she win over international brands that had never used an Indian face before, Taapsee explained.

"I think the credit goes to all the women and men who wanted to move forward together. Brands approached her, she revealed, because her raw honesty resonates. "There were some brands who had never taken an Indian face on an international standard... They felt that their customer base... when you say something, you say it from your heart. You say the truth. So your honesty resonates with our customers."

This trust isn't accidental. Taapsee's track record screams authenticity. From Naam Shabana's gritty spy to Dunki's emotional depth, she's headlined films that spark conversations, proving her mettle beyond glitz. International brands saw in her a voice that aligns with progressive values, women and men pushing boundaries together. "It makes you feel like you have a huge responsibility... I can't endorse anything that I don't actually believe in", she said.

Taapsee has changed how we view success in films. Her meaningful movies have earned her respect and brand deals based on trust, not just ticket sales. She leads with honesty. Next, she stars in ASSI, an investigative courtroom drama directed by Anubhav Sinha, releasing in theaters on February 20, 2026.
