Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Ajit Pawar, died in a tragic plane crash on January 30. His untimely demise left the entire state of Maharashtra deeply shocked and grief-stricken. Apart from being a politician, Ajit Pawar was also an excellent orator. His witty and humorous nature was always a topic of discussion. He also shared friendly relations with several artists.
Ajit Pawar had once spoken about his biopic during an event, and that video is now going viral. A clip from the Zee Gaurav Chitra Gaurav Awards 2024 ceremony has been widely shared on social media. In the video, Avadhoot Gupte asks Ajit Pawar, “If a biopic titled The Ajit Pawar is made, which actor should play your role?” Without even a moment’s hesitation, Ajit Pawar named Nilesh Sable, who was standing beside him. Hearing this response, Nilesh Sable was also left surprised. Sable the Chala Hawa Yeu Dya star has mimicked Ajit Pawar on various occasions.
Nilesh Sable then said, “I don’t know how well I would have done it, but people seemed to like it. I didn’t know that Dada himself watches it. But now I know. So now I’ll have to be a bit more careful.”
Ajit Pawar further added, “I also sometimes watch what he says. We don’t stand in front of a mirror and practice speaking. Once we hold the microphone, we speak in the way our thoughts come to us. But many times, while mimicking me, he used the phrase ‘ya thikani (at this place)’. From then on, I decided to use that word as little as possible. You can see that in the period after that, Ajit Pawar has reduced the use of that word. So, Doctor, you should keep imitating me like this once in a while. That way, I’ll also understand what is right and what is wrong, and I can correct myself accordingly.”
Following Ajit Pawar’s response, the entire venue burst into laughter. Now, if a film is ever made on Ajit Pawar, it remains to be seen who will portray the late leader on screen. Meanwhile, after Ajit Pawar, his wife Sunetra Pawar has taken oath as Deputy Chief Minister and assumed administrative responsibilities.
