Sharpshooter Chandro Tomar, who was popularly known as "Shooter Dadi", died on Friday at the age of 89. She had contracted the virus and was hospitalised due to breathing trouble. Actors Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar, Kangana Ranaut, Randeep Hooda, and Akshay Kumar penned condolences after news of her demise went viral. Taking to Twitter, Taapsee shared a throwback picture with the octogenarian and captioned her post, "For the inspiration you will always be... You will live on forever in all the girls you gave hope to live. My cutest rockstar May the and peace be with you."

Bhumi shared a series of pictures on Instagram and wrote, "Chandro Dadi Am so saddened by the demise of Chandro Tomar dadi Aka Shooter Dadi Chandro. Truly feels like a part of me has gone. A part of family has gone. She lived a life full of greatness and impacted so many lives. Questioned patriarchy and broke every shackle of ageism. Her legacy will live on in all those girls whom she became a roll model for. "Bhumi also issued a statement saying, "It is completely devastating to know that Chandro dadi is not with us anymore. It really feels like a very big personal loss. She was someone who lived a very full filling life. She made her own rules, paved her own path and she had a beautiful sisterhood and a beautiful partnership with Prakashi dadi and together they left an impact on so many lives. I feel so fortunate to have played her character, got a chance to learn about life from her and she has left a very big part of herself with me."Kangana re-shared a tweet by Golfer Arjun Bhati captioning it, "No please no....."Actor Randeep Hooda also mourned her death and tweeted a picture with her. The film Saand Ki Aankh was based on the lives of sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, who were arguably the oldest shooters in the country and participated in over 30 national championships. Taapsee Pannu played Prakashi Tomar while actress Bhumi Pednekar starred as Chandro Tomar in the film.
