A 41-year old man was convicted on Wednesday for 3 years by a Mumbai special court for molesting actress Zaira Wasim in a Delhi-Mumbai flight on December 2017. The accused Vikas Sachdeva was booked under Section 8 of the POCSO Act and Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code. Post the judgement, Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel has taken to Twitter account and hailed Zaira for her fighting spirit. She tweeted, Vry proud f Zaira who went through so much hassle to fight the case also the trauma f being subjected to teasing scrutiny & above all prejudices all victims face...bt hats off to her at such a tender age she hs lots f fire in her #Bharatkibeti #NewIndia

Back in 2017, Zaira mentioned that she was molested by Vikas in a flight from Delhi to Mumbai. She also added that she had informed the staff in the flight about the incident but the staff did not help. The actress also accused the Mumbai businessman of constantly rubbing against her when she was trying to sleep on the flight. Vikas in his defence said that he was trying to sleep on the flight and that the actress mistook it for molestation. Zaira who quit Bollywood in June last year was last seen in the 2019 film The Sky is Pink. The film starred Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in lead roles.
