London [UK], January 29 : The UEFA Champions League 2025-26 witnessed multiple interesting encounters during matchday 8 as Benfica thrashed Real Madrid at their home venue and Arsenal continued their unbeaten streak in this season.

Kylian Mbappe's brace went in vain as Benfica thrashed Real Madrid 4-2 in an interesting encounter at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon. Andreas Schjelderup scored twice for Benfica as Pavlidis (45+5') and Anatoliy Trubin (90+8') also added goals for their side to secure a memorable win.

Arsenal continued their unbeaten run in the league with a dominating 3-2 win over Kazakhstan's Kairat. Viktor Gyokeres scored the first goal of the match in the second minute. Kairat's Jorginho found an equaliser with a penalty goal in the seventh minute. Kai Havertz again put The Gunners in the lead with a 15-minute goal and Gabriel Martinelli (36') extended their lead with another goal in the first half. Richardinho scored a goal for Kairat in stoppage time but that only decreased the difference of the defeat for Kairat. The Kazakhstani club remain at the bottom of the table with just one point in eight matches.

Alexis Mac Allister scored a brace as Liverpool FC thrashed Azerbaijani club Qarabag FK 6-0 on Wednesday night to remain at the third place in the points table of the UEFA Champions League 2025-26. Florian Wirtz (21'), Mohamed Salah (50'), Hugo Ekitike (57') and Federico Chiesa (90') also scored in the victory for The Reds.

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) played out a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United at Parc des Princes in Paris. PSG currently stand at the 11th place with four wins and two draws in eight matches.

Barcelona defeated Copenhagen 4-1 after trailing by one goal in the first half. Robert Lewandowski (48'), Lamine Yamal (60'), Raphinha (69') and Marcus Rashford (85') scored in the second half to claim a dominating win over the Danish club. With this win, Barca remained at the fifth place with 16 points.

Chelsea dominated Napoli with a 3-2 win during matchday 8 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples. Joao Pedro scored a brace for The Blues to secure a comfortable win. Napoli slipped to 30th place after the match as Chelsea remained at the sixth spot in the points table.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City secured an easy win over Turkish side Galatasaray with Erling Haaland (11') and Rayan Cherki (29') scoring for The City in the first half. Man City are placed at eighth place with this win whereas Galatasaray slipped to the 20th spot.

Harry Kane's Bayern Munich also registered a comfortable win over PSV in matchday 8 encounter with Jamala Musiala (58') and Kane (84') scoring for their side. With this win, Bayern solidified their position in the top-two with 21 points.

Tottenham defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 as Inter Milan dominated against Borussia Dortmund. Monaco played out a goalless draw with Juventus. Bayer Leverkusen thrashed Villarreal 3-0 and Club Brugge also smashed Marseille 3-0 in their respective matchday 8 encounters.
