Jammu, July 4 As many as 227 more persons tested positive for novel coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, taking the total such patients to 8,246 and active cases to 2,976 in the union territory.

A statement by the Information and Public Relations Department said of the new cases, 30 were from Jammu division and 197 from Kashmir division.

Six patients succumbed to the virus in different UT hospitals, taking the death toll to 127 in the UT.

So far, 5,143 patients have completely recovered. Of the total active cases, 434 are in Jammu division and 2,542 in Kashmir division.
