25 test positive in TN, total tally 1,267: CM

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami on Thursday said the number of persons testing positive is coming down and just 25 tested positive in the last 24 hours.

Chennai, April 16 Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami on Thursday said the number of persons testing positive is coming down and just 25 tested positive in the last 24 hours.

He also said the number of persons who lost their lives due to Covid-19 in the state stands at 15 and the number of patients discharged is at 180.

Palaniswami said the number of persons who tested positive in the last 24 hours was 25 and the total number of persons infected with coronavirus was 1,267.

He said the number of persons testing positive for coronavirus infection in the state is coming down due to the actions taken by the state government.

According to him, only the wealthy people who returned to India from overseas have transmitted the coronavirus here.

Palaniswami said an official group has been formed to suggest the relaxations from the lockdown restrictions after April 20.
