Chennai, Sep 17 As many as 5,560 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Tamil Nadu, taking the total tally to 525,420, the state health department said on Thursday.

The overall recoveries in the state has touched 470,192.

At least 59 more deaths have been recorded in TN, pushing the total death toll to 8,618.

Chennai continued to head the Covid-19 infection table with 992 persons testing positive for the virus, taking the total tally in the state capital to 152,567.
