A 29-year-old woman infected with the coronavirus died at a hospital here on Sunday, taking the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 13 in J&K.

The woman admitted to the chest diseases hospital in Srinagar, after she had tested positive for the coronavirus, sucumbed to the disease, doctors said.

"The patient was suffering septic shock and she had undergone multiple surgeries", doctors at the hospital said.

With 108 testing positive for the virus on Saturday, J&K recorded the highest one-day spike in the number of positive cases so far.
